  Objective     The objective for this assignment is shoot 30 images of jewelry products and 30 objects of collectables to promote the quality of the object/product.  The shoot must be creative with lighting and composition.  The products should be shot at more dynamic angles.  5600 usb light with some filters will be mostly held by hand.  The camera should be placed on the tripod to prevent shaking.  Also, the background should have variety along with any additional accessories.       Double sided tape helped prop up the ring for the shoot.  The ring stood horizontally and was able to get interesting angles.  The preparation before the shoot was important.  The objects must be cleaned thoroughly to avoid dust or fingerprints.  Having a simple clean background is key.  "Colors are apt to clash with or detract from whatever you are photographing" (Harvey).  The blue background behind the collectable...

  Objective     The objective for this exercise is to shoot 40 images of several beauty products and promote the quality of each of them.  The products must be creatively shot as if they were to sell in an ad.  The products that are being used are sculpting cream and an eyeliner.  While shooting the product(s), it would help to take different angles and emphasize on color and shape.  5600 usb light will be set about 2 feet from the subject.  There will be some reflections of the sculpting cream container.  These images may need editing in Photoshop.  Shadows shouldn't appear too harsh while the lighting should be well defined.       The second part of the exercise is to shoot 40 images of fabrics and clothing.  In order to flatten the texture of the clothing, frontlighting should be used.  Frontlighting will create a smooth appearance.  For the types of fabrics and clothing, a hat and jacket will be sho...

 Objective     The objective of this assignment is to shoot circuit boards, microchips, and electronics and emphasize the details in these small objects.  The next part is to shoot white on white and black on black.  For something as small as a chip, the camera should be pointed directly head on.  The chip can be propped up by applying an adhesive underneath.  It will be a challenge to keep lighting even and shadows at a minimum.  Different angles must apply to the shots while filling the whole frame.  While taking photos of the chips and circuit boards, the approach should be to highlight all the minute details.  There may be some writings or logos and this should be captured.  To capture fine details and layouts, the Canon should be set to its macro lighting flash setup.  The lighting should be even along the subject and shadowless.  The 5600 usb light will be hand held as opposed to being stationary.  The object sh...

 Objective The objective is to shoot 60 - 80 images of glass objects and liquid.  The liquid can be static or in motion.  The pour and splash are two categories of liquid in motion. It's important to do a test shot before an actual shot.  The camera that I'm using has portrait mode and creative shot mode.  The creative shot mode allows for multiple versions of a single shot.  Lighting for this exercise will be the same as the first exercise.  The lighting will be placed in front of the glass object at 1/2 power.  Other color lighting will be experimented with. While taking photos of the glass, it was difficult to get most of the reflections from the surrounding light off the shots.  The liquid added more reflections as well.   This photo was among the best ones that I took.  The details of the liquid droplets cover the entire glass.  There is minimal reflection from outside light sources.  Camera was set to ISO 3200, ...

  Objective The objective of this assignment is to shoot a minimum of 60 images of several metal objects.  This exercise will emphasize the quality and strength of the metal.  The composition and lighting must be focused upon. Approach to meet objective It is important to keep in mind all the different camera angles.  The product for the first several images are some metal tools such as screws.  The background is a plain white paper board.  Lighting for this assignment is the Neewer 5600K USB Light with color filters.  This would provide low angle shots.  Also, the camera and the metal objects must take into account the reflective surfaces.  The camera, Canon ELPH 350 HS, has shutter set to 1/2000 -15 sec and max aperture of 3.6.  It has 12x optical zoom lens along with maximum ISO 3200.  The lighting will be approximately a foot away from the subject.  A separate white foam board will be present in order to bounce light of the...
